32. The Trap of the “Right” Way
How many times have you caught yourself waiting to figure out the “right” way before you even start?
In this episode, I’m talking about the trap of perfectionism: that sneaky belief that there’s a correct formula for everything. The “right” way to post online, the “right” way to record a podcast, the “right” way to build your art, or even the “right” way to show up in your relationships.
Here’s the truth: chasing the “right way” doesn’t just slow us down. It drains the joy, the momentum, and the spark out of what we’re creating. It also keeps us in a constant loop of second-guessing, procrastinating, or quitting too early.
I share how this shows up in my own creative process, why our brains equate “right” with safety and comfort, and how discomfort is actually part of success, not proof that you’ve failed. We’ll talk about zooming out, redefining what “doing it right” actually means, and why moving forward imperfectly is often the most aligned choice.
If you’ve ever struggled with:
✨ perfectionism and fear of failure
✨ procrastination because you don’t feel ready yet
✨ waiting until you have the perfect plan before you act
✨ losing joy in your creative process because you’re following “the rules”
This episode will help you breathe a little deeper, take a first step, and start building your life and art with more freedom, joy, and authenticity.
